26. 2007 Until I get more satisfactory news bits up on this page, see anything I've posted over at my blog, or at my deviantArt site (the latter which I update most often, I think).
October 10th, 2006 October 1st through the 5th was the 15th annual National Caricaturist Network convention in Orlando, Fl. I made the wise decision to join the NCN finally (even after not working retail caricature since 2004) and join the melee of drawing and competition. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience, and I walked away super refreshed with all that artistic influence (not to metion my first three awards). Over 190 artists competed this year, with a turnout of over 200 attendees. Made tons of friends and new contacts, met some great master caricaturist that I've admired for years such as Jan Op De Beeck and character designer Stephen Silver, and really just had an all-around fun time drawing with everyone! Next year it's Reno, Nevada...expect me to be there! September
25th, 2006 So Sept. 20th through the 24th was the famed OIAF, quite a spectacular gathering of films from across the world and hundreds of animators alike. The word on the street was they had the most attendees this year, especially it being the 30th anniversary of the festival. I and many of my fellow students were very happy to attend the festival for our second time this year. None of us had any films there, but we were all happy to represent Pratt Institute and party like none other! I had the pleasure of meeting with many creators and artists like John Kricfalusi (Ren & Simpy), and watching some amazing pieces of animated work. Again, Ottawa was such a beautiful and welcoming city, and you can expect me to be there again next year! August
28th, 2006 Started classes for my fourth year as a Traditional Animation student here at Pratt Institute. My thesis film, "The Packrat", is underway with thumbnails all complete already. Expect production samples to go up soon in the Animation section. =) Also, those of you I met at the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con...many appoligies for being so slow with getting this site up! Thanks for putting up with my sluggish ways! =)
